Event & Tasting Policy
What to expect at a Whisky EDU tasting, and what we ask of you when you join one.
About This Policy
Whisky EDU conducts educational whisky tastings, classes, festivals, private tastings, corporate programs, virtual tastings, and other events involving distilled spirits. Our goal is to provide an enjoyable and educational experience while promoting responsible alcohol consumption.
By purchasing a ticket, registering for, or participating in a Whisky EDU event or tasting, attendees agree to the following policies.
Age Requirement
Unless specifically designated as a non-alcohol event, participants consuming or receiving alcoholic beverages must be 21 years of age or older.
Valid government-issued photo identification may be required. Whisky EDU and participating venues reserve the right to refuse alcohol service when identification cannot be provided or legal-age requirements cannot be verified.
Responsible Tasting
Whisky EDU tastings are designed for education and appreciation rather than alcohol consumption for its own sake. Participants are encouraged to:
- Taste responsibly and at their own pace.
- Use provided water and stay hydrated.
- Eat before and, when available, during tastings.
- Use dump or spit containers whenever desired.
- Never drink and drive.
- Arrange a designated driver, rideshare, taxi, public transportation, or other safe transportation when appropriate.
A tasting sample is not an invitation or requirement to consume the entire pour.
Refusal of Service
Whisky EDU, event staff, participating brand representatives, and licensed venues reserve the right to refuse or discontinue alcohol service to any person who appears intoxicated, behaves disruptively or unsafely, provides alcohol to a minor, or otherwise creates a safety or legal concern.
Being refused further alcohol service does not entitle an attendee to a refund.
Whisky and Product Availability
Whiskies, spirits, food pairings, presenters, brand ambassadors, exhibitors, cigars, entertainment, and other advertised event components are subject to availability.
Occasionally, circumstances outside Whisky EDU’s control may require a substitution. When practical, we will attempt to provide a comparable alternative.
The purchase of an event ticket does not guarantee that every advertised whisky or product will remain available throughout the event.
Allergies and Dietary Restrictions
Whisky EDU events may include food, chocolate, nuts, dairy products, gluten-containing ingredients, and other potential allergens.
Guests with allergies or dietary restrictions should notify Whisky EDU when registering whenever possible and should confirm ingredients before consuming food or beverages.
Although reasonable efforts may be made to accommodate dietary needs, Whisky EDU cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment or eliminate the possibility of cross-contact.
Tickets and Admission
Tickets are valid only for the event, date, and admission level purchased.
Tickets may not be duplicated, counterfeited, or resold in violation of applicable law or event rules. Whisky EDU may establish event-specific policies regarding ticket transfers.
Admission may be refused to anyone who cannot meet applicable age, identification, safety, venue, or ticket requirements.
Cancellations, Postponements and Refunds
Event purchases are subject to the Whisky EDU Refund Policy and any additional terms stated on the individual event page.
Unless otherwise stated, tickets are non-refundable when an attendee chooses not to attend.
If Whisky EDU cancels an event, ticket holders will be provided with the refund, credit, rescheduling, or other options applicable to that event.
If circumstances require an event to be postponed, relocated, or materially modified, Whisky EDU will communicate available options to registered attendees.
Private and Corporate Tastings
Private and corporate tastings may have separate terms covering deposits, minimum fees, travel expenses, cancellation deadlines, products, food pairings, venue requirements, and other arrangements.
When a written proposal, contract, invoice, or booking agreement contains event-specific terms, those terms take precedence over this general policy where they differ.
The event host is responsible for ensuring that the venue is appropriate for the tasting and that participants meet applicable age requirements.
Virtual Tastings
Participants in virtual tastings are responsible for obtaining or receiving tasting products in accordance with applicable laws in their location.
Participants must be of legal drinking age in the jurisdiction where they participate.
Whisky EDU does not encourage participants to consume every sample during a virtual tasting and encourages responsible sampling practices identical to those used at in-person events.
Transportation
Guests consuming alcohol are responsible for arranging safe transportation.
Whisky EDU strongly encourages designated drivers and the use of rideshare services, taxis, public transportation, or other appropriate transportation.
Do not drive after consuming alcohol.
Conduct and Safety
Whisky EDU seeks to provide a welcoming, educational and enjoyable environment. Harassment, threatening behavior, excessive intoxication, fighting, intentional property damage, or conduct that endangers guests or staff will not be tolerated.
An attendee may be removed from an event for unsafe or seriously disruptive conduct without a refund, to the extent permitted by law.
Photography and Recording
Photography or video recording may occur at Whisky EDU events for promotional, educational, documentary, or social-media purposes.
When appropriate, Whisky EDU will provide notice that event photography is taking place. Guests with concerns about appearing in photographs or recordings should notify event staff.
Commercial photography, professional recording, livestreaming, or use of Whisky EDU event content for commercial purposes may require prior permission.
Cigars and Tobacco
Some Whisky EDU events may include optional cigar experiences. Participation is limited to persons meeting applicable age requirements and is subject to venue rules and applicable laws.
Cigar smoking is permitted only in specifically authorized areas.
Changes to an Event
Whisky EDU reserves the right to make reasonable changes to event schedules, presenters, tasting selections, activities, food offerings, entertainment, and other program details when circumstances require.
