Whisky Tasting events

 Engaging, entertaining and educational whisky tasting events are great for private parties, company parties, customer appreciation and even team building.

Whisky Edu provides whisky tasting throughout the San Francisco Bay Area which includes Silicon Valley and San Jose.

Whisky Edu provides in person whisky tasting and virtual whisky tasting for private, and corporate clients. The tastings are customized for the clients needs.  They can be designed for the novice and for the experienced whisky appreciator and they can be designed to provide something that will enrich all levels within the same event.  Great for Birthdays, holiday parties, team building, customer appreciation or just because. Scottish Distilleries A-Z:

Collector Series (17)

POUR LIST: (6 samples, 1.0 ounce each)

This tasting series which happens every two weeks will explore all 160 Scottish distilleries (post-WWII). We are tasting unique bottling with an average cost of $300 per bottle. Whisky is of course about good smells and good tastes. But whisky never tastes as good, if it is not shared with good friends. Thanks to all who are continuing this journey with us, weather it is every two weeks or as you are able. The fellowship is wonderful. We have a few spots every two weeks for more to join us. However, as more folks discover this series, we expect it will be selling out weeks in advance.

What’s included:

  • Six, 1-ounce samples where average bottle price is $300
  • Tasting glass,
  • Tasting notes with fun scotch facts and distillery information.

  • Glasgow 3-year old (Brand New Distillery with a release old enough to be legally Scotch)
  • Littlemill 23-year old (Silent Distillery. Exciting Woman-Owned Independent Bottler, 1 of 68 bottles. Yes, only 68!)
  • Glen Elgin 21-year old (Distillery known for its Fruitiness, 1 of 257 bottles)
  • Tullibardine 25-year old (Distillery known for a balance of floral and nutty notes)
  • Braeval 17-year old (By a few meters, this is the highest altitude distillery in Scotland, light malt with floral notes)
  • Lochindaal [Bruichladdich] (Islay peat, rare brand – see notes on why, 1 of 288 bottles)

  • Glenturret 12-year old (Distillery with a light spirit that tends to do well in Sherry Cask)
  • Glenglassaugh 10-year old (Distillery with honeyed floral tones, 1 of 370 bottles)
  • Highland Park 21-year old (Island Smoke from a highly regarded distillery)

The Whisky Education Foundation presents an exclusive Whisky and Culinary Delights evening. You’ll be guided through each course which is expertly paired. Expect a live & interactive show with memorable multi-sensory elements and mouth-watering flavor interactions where fine whiskies and gastronomy combine. – it will be a night to remember.

Master Blending Class at Savage and Cooke $150

Renowned wine maker Dave Phinney decided to expand his success into the whisky realm. They made a deal to set up a distillery on the old naval base at Mare Island. Hired renowned distiller Jordan Via and started producing Ryes and Bourbons finished in wine barrels.  Their products have taken top recognition in spirits competitions.  

The half day experience will start with a tour and progress to a tasting and blending class, capped off with an amazing fried chicken dinner (veggie option available) and a commemorative bottle featuring the class blend.

In the blending class, we will build a blend from different wine finished barrels including Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Zinfandel. Choose Bottling proof. Customize label with our branding

To enhance the days experience, there is the option to take a one hour ferry from San Francisco to Mare Island for $24 round trip.  Ferry departs at 1:15  and will return at 7:30PM.  The ferry provides a relaxing ride and wonderful views from the Bay.
